Australia, New Zealand, Norfolk Island, Scotland and Wales will all be represented in the playoffs after completion of the section stage at the end of the fifth day of the 2018 World Youth Championships at Broadbeach Bowls Club.
Aaron Teys (AUS) and Ross Owen (WAL) finished first and second in Section 1 with Ryan Burnett (SCO) taking the third qualification place on shot difference after Rory Soden (NZL) and Alok Lakra (IND) both lost thier final matches to finish level with Ryan on twelve points.
Daeng Dahasry (MAS) took top spot in Section 2, three points clear of Corey Wedlock in second place. Jason Choi finished third, ahead of Gariga Babona on shot difference (+33 v +23).
Ellen Ryan (AUS), Katelyn Inch ((NZL) and Chloe Stewart (AUS) all finished clear of the rest of the field to take the top three places in the Women's Section 1 and qualify for the playoffs, with Tayla Bruce (NZL), Kristina Krstic (AUS) and Shae Wilson (NFK) doing the same in Section 2.
It was a similar stroy in both sections of the Mixed Pairs, with Kristina Krstic-Corey Wedlock (AUS), Connie Rixon-Cabous Olivier (MLT-NAM) and Nur Ain Tarmizi-Daeng Dahasry (MAS) qualifiying from Section 1 and Ellen Ryan-Aaron Teys (AUS), Shae Wilson-Ryan Burnett (NFK-SCO) and Angel So-James Po (HKC) from Section 2.
